If they can't make a profit (which I don't believe BTW) then don't make
a profit! Don't cheapen the game. This commisioner is all about the
gimicks. Nothing in the game is sacred.

This is akin to when they lowered the pitching mound in 1969. Some rules
changes are meaningless, others significant. This fits the latter.

not really. That was a minor change. Free Runners on 2nd base, the
universal DH, increasing the size of the bags, 2 throws to first
only...and the expanded playoffs with the WS in November... no more play
at the plate, replay, getting around the draft by siging 16 year olds in
foriegn countries, proteective gear of a hockey goalie while at bat,
clown gloves when running, corperate logos on uniforms ... they have
made a mockery of the game.
